উত্তর ত্রিপুরার ধর্মনগরের বারুয়াকান্দি এলাকায় জোড়া খুনের ঘটনা প্রসঙ্গে বিবৃতি!
গত ১৯ অক্টোবর ২০২৬ তারিখ রাতে উত্তর ত্রিপুরার ধর্মনগরের বারুয়াকান্দি এলাকায় সংঘটিত শুভদীপ রায় চৌধুরী ও জয়দীপ রায় চৌধুরী-র নৃশংস হত্যাকাণ্ডের তীব্র ও দ্ব্যর্থহীন ভাষায় নিন্দা জানান গোপীকা কান্ত দত্ত। নিহত দুই ভাই উত্তর ত্রিপুরার ধর্মনগর থানার অধীন পশ্চিম দেওয়ানপাশা গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের ৬ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের বাসিন্দা ছিলেন।
এই মর্মান্তিক ঘটনা অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগজনক এবং মানুষের বেঁচে থাকার অধিকার, মানবিক মর্যাদা ও আইনের শাসনের প্রতি এক গুরুতর আঘাত। যে কোনও ধরনের হিংসা অগ্রহণযোগ্য। কোনও ব্যক্তিরই নিজের হাতে আইন তুলে নেওয়ার অধিকার নেই।
গোপীকা কান্ত দত্ত শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছেন এবং এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি সহ্য করার জন্য তাঁদের শক্তি, সাহস ও ধৈর্য প্রদানের উদ্দেশ্যে সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করছেন।
তিনি সংশ্লিষ্ট পুলিশ কর্তৃপক্ষের কাছে পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খ, নিরপেক্ষ, স্বচ্ছ ও নির্দিষ্ট সময়সীমার মধ্যে তদন্ত সম্পন্ন করার, সমস্ত প্রাসঙ্গিক তথ্যপ্রমাণ খতিয়ে দেখার এবং যাঁদের বিরুদ্ধে অপরাধে জড়িত থাকার প্রমাণ পাওয়া যাবে, তাঁদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের আহ্বান জানাচ্ছেন। যথাযথ আইনি প্রক্রিয়া বজায় রেখে এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলের অধিকার সুরক্ষিত রেখে, কোনও ভয় বা পক্ষপাত ছাড়াই জবাবদিহি নিশ্চিত করার দাবি জানাচ্ছেন।
একই সঙ্গে, তিনি সাধারণ মানুষের কাছে শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখার, যাচাই না করা তথ্য প্রচার থেকে বিরত থাকার এবং কোনও ধরনের প্রতিশোধমূলক পদক্ষেপ না নেওয়ার আবেদন জানাচ্ছেন। ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠার পথ হতে হবে আইনসম্মত, তথ্যপ্রমাণভিত্তিক ও নিরপেক্ষ।
হিংসার কোনও স্থান নেই, জবাবদিহির প্রশ্নে কোনও আপস চলতে পারে না এবং আইনের শাসনই সর্বোপরি। যাঁদের অপরাধ আদালতে প্রমাণিত হবে, তাঁদের আইন অনুযায়ী সম্পূর্ণ শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।
PR STATEMENT: REGARDING THE DOUBLE MURDER IN THE BARUAKANDI AREA OF DHARMANAGAR, NORTH TRIPURA!
Gopika Kanta Dutta strongly and unequivocally condemns the brutal killing of Shubhadip Roy Chowdhury and Jaydeep Roy Chowdhury, which reportedly took place on the night of 19 October 2026 in the Baruakandi area of Dharmanagar, North Tripura. The deceased brothers were residents of Ward No. 6 under West Dewanpasha Gram Panchayat, within the jurisdiction of Dharmanagar Police Station, North Tripura.
This tragic incident is deeply disturbing and constitutes a grave affront to the right to life, human dignity and the rule of law. Violence in any form is unacceptable, and no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands.
Gopika Kanta Dutta extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays to Almighty God to grant them strength, courage and patience to endure this irreparable loss.
He urges the concerned police authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial, transparent and time-bound investigation, examine all relevant evidence and take appropriate legal action against every person whose involvement is established. He calls for accountability without fear or favour, while ensuring due process and protecting the rights of all concerned.
He also appeals to the public to maintain peace and harmony, refrain from spreading unverified information and avoid any form of retaliation. Justice must be pursued through lawful, evidence-based and impartial means.
Violence must have no place in society, accountability must never be compromised, and the rule of law must prevail. Anyone found guilty must face the full consequences of the law.
