গত ১৯ অক্টোবর, ২০২৬ ইং তারিখে রাত আনুমানিক ৯টা ৪৫ মিনিটে শ্রীপুর গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত কার্যালয়ের নিকটবর্তী শ্রীপুর সার্বজনীন দুর্গাপূজা মণ্ডপে এক মহিলা ও তাঁর স্বামীর উপর কথিত শ্লীলতাহানি ও শারীরিক নির্যাতনের ঘটনার তীব্র নিন্দা জানাচ্ছেন গোপিকা কান্ত দত্ত।

Gopika Kanta Dutta strongly condemns the alleged molestation of a woman and the physical assault of her and her husband at the Sripur Sarbajanin Durga Puja Pandal, near the Sripur Gram Panchayat Office, on 19 October 2026, at around 9:45 PM.
According to the complainant, she submitted a written complaint to the Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Women Police Station on 20 October 2026. However, she alleges that the concerned police authorities have not taken appropriate action so far. It has also been alleged that the accused persons are moving about freely and threatening and pressuring the complainant’s husband to withdraw the complaint. These allegations are serious and require the immediate attention of the concerned authorities.
In these circumstances, on 22 October 2026, the complainant submitted a written representation to the Superintendent of Police, North Tripura District, Dharmanagar, requesting intervention, appropriate legal action, and protection for herself and her family.
Gopika Kanta Dutta appeals to the Superintendent of Police, North Tripura District, and the concerned police authorities to examine the matter promptly, ensure that the complaint is dealt with in accordance with law, take appropriate legal action, and give due consideration to the safety of the complainant and her family.
